Where's the Colbert?
I ran into Virgil at Sunnyside's new daytime coffee hangout, The Grind (the name's still stupid, but I can work there, as long as I listen to my own music), and he remarked at how little press coverage Anti-Dickhead of the Week Stephen Colbert's speech has gotten. For a full-frontal blistering assault less than ten feet from the president's face, it's shocking that the only buzz on the speech has been left to what is commonly (and sillily) called "the blogosphere."
Well, Virgil, you and I aren't alone in our dismay at the lack of coverage. I guess the press doesn't much like being mocked by a comedian. Stupid, hypersensitive, whiny press.
Brian Williams of NBC Nightly News has been on The Daily Show. He's even been moderately funny. Hey, Brian! Cover Colbert! Or does NBC not let pretty boys decide what's on the news?

I had the same reaction. I saw a lengthy report about the "twin Bushes" on Good Morning America today, but no mention whatsoever of Colbert. Granted, GMA isn't exactly top-flight investigative journalism, but it would have been good to see something.
Unfortunately, I didn't listen to all of Morning Edition like I usually do, but it appears from a quick scan of their rundown that they didn't touch the story. Nothing on All Things Considered, either. That really upsets me. I often look to NPR as a beacon of good journalism.

Update! Fox News didn't think Stephen was funny. Imagine that.
As for the spamming weenie, what hurts most is the style and usage -- overuse of exclamation points, run-on sentences, then/than mistakes... A grammatical nightmare. Poor sarahgibson13717994, if that is indeed his/her name.
On the Brian Lehrer show WNYC today probably the second half they are going to play segments from Colbert's performance and let people call in to comment.
Kayla and I watched the clips online last night. Frickin' hilarious. I love Steve. But in a purely hetero way, of course.
