Hank's - A Shill
My part-time employer is having a fundraising event on Monday, March 6 at Hank's Saloon in Brooklyn (at Atlantic and 3rd Avenues). Everyone in the New York City area should go. It'll be fun. I promise.
It's country karaoke. With a live band. What could possibly be more fun than that? There will be giveaways, raffles, prizes, and beer. There are details, including a downloadable song list, here.

Truthfully I'd rather poke out my own eyes with a toothpick.
I think you're not getting into the spirit of the proceedings. Add a dose of irony to your thinking on this one and I suspect you'll end up back at "total blast."
This is country karaoke with a Brooklyn-based live band, people. It's on!
You do have a point, there...
Just put on the Irony Pants, or, as the case may be, the Irony Chaps.
