A Mayor Pissed
New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin gave one hell of an interview last night with a local radio station, and at the end, he and the interviewer, both residents of the desperate city, sat in nearly ten seconds of silence as they wept.
Before he broke down, ending the interview with a choked, "I gotta go," Nagin railed. Saying he fully expected to be in massive amounts of political trouble for his comments but that he was too pissed off to care, he blasted Governor Blanco and President Bush because he has no idea what they're doing, if they're doing anything. "No more God-damn press conferences... Get off your asses and do something!"
At least Condi Rice is on vacation in New York buying shoes at Ferragamo and going to see Monty Python's SpamAlot.
I'm looking for a transcript or an audio file of the interview that I can link to, but in the meantime you might try catching it on Air America Radio, which is where I first heard it. They played it a couple times on "Morning Sedition."

Snipers shooting at MediVac helicopters...
Remember how quickly Bushie passed aid when the hurricane hit Florida? That's all I have to say.
Heaven forbid he's gonna have to pull some troops out of the Middle East to deal with what's going on here...
