The Latest From Our Friend Pat

Having avoided reporters since he first said that the U.S. should assassinate Hugo Chavez, Pat "I Feel the Hatred of Christ" Robertson got on his so-called Christian network today to apologize.

Oh, wait. No, he didn't apologize. A proper Christian has no sense of humility, you see. So he put the blame on the media, saying that as usual he was misrepresented. You know, it's all part of that war against Christians that has led to the Christian domination of the government.

Sorry, Pat-with-the-androgynous-name. You did actually say, "Assassination," no matter how much you want to claim you didn't.

Let's see... Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness is Commandment Number Nine for most Protestants and Jews. For some reason, it's Commandment Number Eight for Catholics and the Lutherans (such as myself) who memorized Martin Luther's Small Catechism as part of our Confirmation. Either way, Pat, you've heard of the Ten Commandments. And as someone who supports putting said Commandments in as many public places as possible, you sure as hell should know that lying is a sin.

So go apologize to God, Pat. You're pissing Him/Her off.

Oh, and by the way, assassination/murder is a sin, too. So go apologize to God for wishing that on someone, too.

Are you, like, the worst Christian in the world?

This comment is only loosely related but I wanted to share with someone the rather disturbing experience I had waking up this morning. Now typically I have my clock radio tuned in to Morning Edition on NPR. Well apparently someone screwed with the tuning dial because when my alarm first went off this morning there was very enthusiastic preaching on the radio. I hit snooze immediately and didn't think much of it (probably just a profile on some preacher or something...right?) Well about 9 minutes later my alarm goes off again only this time it is a news update about "christian" run-ins with homosexuals. I listened in horror and facination for about a minute and then turned it off. Needless to say I was WIDE awake at this point. Not sure how the station got changed. We are probably being targeted by some stealthy radical conservative christian group or something. That's all. Anyway thanks for letting me share. I think I will check the station before I set my alarm at night from now on............

Quite possibly the worst Christian in the world him and the rest of the so-called "Christian's" dominating the US Administration. He should'nt be flogged at dawn but have his tongue tied to his left ear for three months and his hands tied behind his back as punishment for his outrageous comments. And as for Rummy with his shocking "America doesn't engage in such incidents" nonsense, who is he trying to kid? Any innocent nation accused thus wouldn't lower themselves by denying or even mentioning the crackpot Pat. Ja'cuse

I'm gonna have to vote for Dubya in the "Worst Christian in the World" Contest. Pat's only lusted in his heart for death and mayhem. Unlike our Commander-in-Crazy, he hasn't actually managed to kill people (that we know of).

I am curious about Pat's fist in that photo, though. Is that the beginning of some sort of gang greeting? Having found that drawing fish in the sand is far too passe, is this the new identifier of poor, maligned, blighted Christian fundamentalist wackos everywhere?

But didn't you hear? He said that while he was being a political pundit, not while he was being a Christian, so it doesn't count against him as a Christian. Didn't know that was something you could turn on and off, did you?
